Our mission and values

Established in Canada since 1957, Bel Group created its subsidiary in Montreal in 2005, to boost its local operations and develop its iconic cheese brands: The Laughing Cow®, Boursin®, Mini Babybel®, Port Salut, Kiri®.

Bel Canada has a major role to play is the company’s global expansion. It is one of the growth engine for the group, and its ambition inspire Bel employees all around the world.

These unique, high-quality products, which are mostly manufactured in Quebec, have enjoyed tremendous success among Canadian consumers. The subsidiary’s team proudly got support and investment from the global organization, allowing the equipment and building of 3 production sites locally.

Bel Canada’s ambition is also to favour a business model which draws on the expertise of the local dairy industry, thus benefiting the industry’s stakeholders. The Laughing Cow® has been manufactured in Quebec since 2007 and Boursin since 2011 (partnerships with Bergeron and Agropur). To build its new Babybel plant in Sorel-Tracy, Bel worked with a new partner, producing Riviera delicious dairy and vegan products.

Bel Canada, which is headquartered in Montreal, is in full expansion mode et will have 200 employees at the end of 2020.
